What documents do we need?

In order to register your yacht in Spain, we do not need any survey reports and the documentation is very simple:

A passport copy

Proof of ownership / sale agreement

Deletion certificate (If the boat was registered previously)

Navigability certificate

Boats built before 1998. A technical document of measurement in required

Boats built after 1998, a CE declaration certificate is required

Engine CE declaration certificate

If the boat is arriving from outside the EU, import documentation is necessary.

Tax payment proof

If a boat is less than 9 meters in length and has an engine with a power output of less than 8.69 kilowatts (11.74 horsepower), it will be subject to T0 tax.

A sea worthiness certificate is typically required for boats in Spain, and that the certificate is issued after a technical survey. The technical survey is carried out by a qualified surveyor who examines the boat and verifies that it is following the applicable regulations and standards.
